If you want to describe the relation between two categorical variables, you can summarize the observed frequencies in a contingency table. These frequencies can be interpreted as joint, marginal and conditional probabilities. This video shows you how to calculate these statistics. However, you also learn that this information is not sufficient to generalize to the population.
