The next lectures will discuss different considerations for observations: how social scientist think about observation, the issue of focus, how to write down your observations and the issue of subjective observations. This video focuses on the first question and shortly discusses different observational paradigms in sociology: formal sociology, dramaturgical sociology, public realm, auto-observation and ethnomethodology.
